How is the lamb raised?
We buy weaned lambs and raise them naturally, outside, on the grass. They have access to shelter, water, and green grass at all times. They are treated naturally (but not certified organic) once we get them unless life-saving measures are needed.
How is it available?
The lamb is available in the on-farm cheese shop in cuts (prices are on the Price List page) and bulk by order (whole and half - prices to be updated soon). |
How did we get our first sheep?
Vicky brought home Bathsheebaaa, our first lamb, when she was just 2 days old. We put a diaper on her, bottle-fed her, and raised her in the house. She followed us like a puppy! Bathsheebaaa lived many years and gave birth to many cute lambs. She died of old age a few years ago. Most Springs we'll get a lamb who's mother rejects it and it gets to be mothered by our young children here on the farm. |
